1996

The Trades Become a Calling

Paul Barbour began working in the trades doing exterior siding and finish carpentry. He gained hands-on experience across a wide range of homes, from entry-level residences to large custom builds along Lake Michigan. These early years shaped his appreciation for detail, quality, and strong working relationships.

2010

A Turning Point in Direction

After years in exterior work, Paul was referred to a premier remodeling contractor in Elkhart. Together they completed several detailed exterior projects, followed by interior remodels and ultimately three custom homes. This period opened the door for Paul to transition from subcontractor work into full general contracting.

2014

Barbour Construction Begins to Grow

This year marked a meaningful shift as projects expanded in size and complexity. Kitchens, baths, and mid-level remodels steadily evolved into larger-scale work. With Carri’s support in the office, the company refined its systems, strengthened pricing strategies, and started attracting clients looking for more comprehensive remodeling.

Paul founded Barbour Construction after years of hands-on trade experience and meaningful work with a respected Elkhart builder. His background spans exterior finishes, interior remodeling, and custom home construction. He leads the company with a focus on integrity, transparency, and a process-driven approach.

Carri Wagley

Office Manager

Carri manages communication, scheduling, and the early stages of client intake. Her role ensures that homeowners feel heard and supported from the very first conversation. She plays a critical part in coordinating project details and helping maintain the company’s organized, client-first experience.

Jason Zak

Production Manager

Jason oversees the production side of projects, helping ensure scheduling, trade coordination, and daily operations run smoothly. His leadership supports Barbour’s commitment to quality and organization on every job site.

Once the PDA is signed, our team gathers measurements, connects with trusted trade partners, and begins developing a fully detailed scope of work. You will review selections, finishes, and allowances so every choice is transparent and documented. This phase results in a comprehensive proposal that outlines your project clearly and helps you make confident decisions.

3 | Build With Care and Stay Informed

With contracts signed and permitting underway, your project moves into construction. A dedicated team manages scheduling, communication, and on site progress while Buildertrend keeps you informed with updates, photos, and budget tracking. We maintain a clean job site, respect your home, and guide you through completion until every detail is finished and the project is ready for you to enjoy.
